Creativity and Changing Landscapes

A curated professional learning program starting in the Hadley’s Art Prize galleries at Hadley’s Orient Hotel with artist talks and a talk about Aboriginal art with Judith Ryan AM, then moving to the University of Tasmania’s Hunter Street campus for a talk by Pakana woman Theresa Sainty, a painting workshop with multi-disciplinary artist Abdul Abdullah. Also learn about the National Gallery of Australia’s Creative Learning approach, and Art Education Australia’s 50th anniversary.

10am – 12pm Hadley’s Orient Hotel, 34 Murray Street Hobart

1pm – 4pm University of Tasmania’s Hunter Street Centre for The Arts, 37 Hunter St, Hobart

Please note the Hadley’s Art Prize galleries will be crowded when you arrive. Please meet us in the foyer at Hadley’s Orient Hotel by the Art Education Australia banner at 9:50am.

This event is presented by the Hadley's Art Prize in partnership with the University of Tasmania, Art Education Australia, the Tasmanian Art Teachers Association, and Artery.

Hadley’s Orient Hotel:

• 10:00am–11:00am: Hadley’s Art Prize artist talks in the Hadley’s Art Prize galleries

• 11:00am–11:30pm: Judith Ryan AM discussion of first nations’ artworks in the Hadley’s Art Prize galleries

11:30pm–12:30pm: Lunch break (participants to find their own lunch)

At UTAS Hunter Street Campus:

• 12:30pm–1:00pm: Learning about Country with Theresa Sainty

• 1:00pm–2:30pm: Practical workshop with Abdul Abdullah

• 2:30pm–3:00pm: Tea/coffee break (provided)

• 3:00pm–3:30pm: 50 years of AEA & HAP education resource – Sarah Brooke & Amy Jackett

• 3:30pm–4:00pm: National Gallery of Australia Education Team– Creative Learning Approach
