Creature Creation | Portal

Work with illustrator Sam Wannan to explore the process of creating fantasy creatures and characters to be a part of your own stories! Design and build your own characters and models. Learn the basics of character design as you develop your own artworks and polymer clay sculptures of characters to bring into your own fiction or role-playing stories!

Participants will:

• Learn about how to create their own characters or creatures from the ground up.
• Design their own character sheets for use in their own storytelling
• Uncover new ways to design fantasy creatures and monsters!
• Learn how to sculpt and build their own polymer clay figurines to take home
• Meet and work with other artists to build ideas together!

All materials will be provided. 

(Note that polymer clay figurines made will need to be baked, so must be collected the following day)

Sam Wannan is an illustrator, animator and art educator living in South Australia and currently working at Riverland Youth Theatre! Striving to create exciting artwork through a range of media, they seek to connect the mundane with the magical. Building deep complex worlds rich with texture. They have a strong focus on strengthening community ties and supporting youth through artistic practice.
