Credible Business: Customers, the pillar that pays
Description
Credible Business: Customers, the pillar that pays
Don't assume customers will buy. Find out and prove it.
Experia Growth, Typeset and Katapult BD are joining forces to help innovators and early stage founders set a solid customer base for their startups!
Customers are the lifeblood of your business. They are also the hard part many founders tend to leave until last. "Everyone I spoke to thinks it's great" is not a customer. It is an assumption.
This free, practical session covers the Customer pillar of our Credible Business Framework. A credible business answers three questions: Will it work (Product)? How do we pull it off (Commercialisation)? Why will customers buy it (Customer)? Today we focus on the third. No business background assumed, no jargon.
What you will do
Separate what you want (your personal goal) from what the business needs, and compare three business styles: sell it, licence it or operate it.
Sort your customer facts from your assumptions. A fact is something a third party has confirmed. Everything else is an assumption.
Work through four Customer questions: Who exactly will buy it? Is the problem painful enough to pay for? Have real buyers tested it? Is there early demand?
Write 1 or 2 SMART actions for each question. A SMART action is something you either did or didn't do by a set date, not a good intention.
Pick up practical techniques from our guest presenters to find customers, convince them and grow your network.
Come along if you:
have an idea, an early stage startup
have heard "great idea" but not yet "here's my order"
would rather build than sell (we see you)
