Event description

Cricket Narratives is a public lecture exploring the cultural and historical legacy of cricket in Australia, its representations in literature, culture and the media, and its relations to national and global identities.

Presented in Melbourne – a city where sport is both a pastime and a cultural force – the event will feature a keynote lecture by Professor Paul Giles from the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences at ACU, together with a response from eminent cricket writer Gideon Haigh.

This will be followed by a Q&A session, one that will encourage dialogue between academic, sporting, and public audiences.

Timing:

5:30pm – Event commences with drinks/nibbles

5:50pm – Welcome

6:00pm – Lecture commences

7:30pm – Lecture and event conclude
