Event description

Join us for an evening of all things crime writing and all things authors whose names start with M. With both Mark Brandi and Matthew Spencer publishing books in the coming weeks we are stoked to have the two of them down in Torquay to discuss their new books and crime writing. We of course then had to ask our good friend, crime writer and M named local; Mark Smith to chair the event for us.

EDEN - Mark Brandi (Published 25th June)

From the bestselling author of Wimmera comes an unputdownable literary thriller that shows we all have secrets, but some are deadlier than others. Cities are tough when you've grown up as a country kid. They're even tougher after nine years inside. Tom Blackburn is fresh out of jail and not sure where his future lies. He knows what he wants. But he's pretty sure she doesn't want him. From much-loved Australian crime author Mark Brandi comes a new book that answers old questions. A gripping story of a big city with deadly secrets.

Broke Road - Matthew Spencer (Published 1st of July)

From the bestselling author of Black River. This July sees the release of Broke Road. Perfect for fans of Jane Caro and Chris Hammer, this gripping mystery unravels a string of unexplained murders set against the haunting backdrop of the Hunter Valley. Broke Road was inspired by a conversation Matthew Spencer had with a forensic pathologist, exploring the complexities and chilling realities of what it would take to commit the perfect murder.
