From Housing Crisis to Dwelling Justice
Description
From Housing Crisis to Dwelling Justice is a free public event bringing together community members, researchers, and advocates to reflect on the state of housing justice in Naarm/Melbourne and beyond. The evening will feature a premiere screening of Bay Views for All, a documentary film following the renewal of the Barak Beacon Boulevard estate in Port Melbourne. The film will be followed by a panel discussion unpacking the ‘right to housing’ and the current state of the dwelling justice movement, featuring panellists including public housing residents and representatives from Housing for the Aged Action Group, 44 Flats United, Black Peoples Union and Homeless Persons Union of Victoria. This is an opportunity to learn, connect, and contribute to urgent conversations about housing and land justice at a time of escalating crisis.
