Critical Emergency Presentation: Collapsed Patients & Anaphylaxis and Respiratory Emergencies
Event description
Animal Emergency Service Tanawha are excited to invite you to an upcoming seminar designed to enhance your confidence and skills in managing two critical emergency presentations—the collapsed patient (including anaphylaxis) and respiratory emergencies.
🔹 The Collapsed Patient & Anaphylaxis
From shock and cardiac issues to neurological and metabolic causes, we’ll explore the critical steps in assessing and stabilising a collapsed patient. Special focus will be given to anaphylaxis, recognising the subtle and severe signs, and how to act swiftly with the best treatment protocols.
🔹 Respiratory Emergencies
When every breath matters, understanding how to recognise and intervene in respiratory distress is crucial. We’ll cover conditions such as upper airway obstructions, pulmonary oedema, pleural space disease, and more, discussing oxygen therapy and life-saving interventions.
As per previous seminars, we’ll be running two dedicated streams—one for Vets, presented by our AES ECC Resident, Dr Matt Hollindale, and our Veterinarian Dr Gabrielle Capell, and one for all the Vet Nurses, led by our incredibly talented AES Senior Nurse Amanda Atkinson.
📍 Location: RSL Maroochydore
⏰ Time: 5:30pm for 6:00pm start, concluding 9:15pm
🥂 Light dinner and drinks provided
This is a fantastic opportunity for Vets and Vet Nurses to refine their emergency approach, ask questions, and engage with experienced colleagues in a supportive environment.
