Critical Infrastructure Security Month 2024 - Space Town Hall
Event description
Each year, the Department of Home Affairs' Cyber and Infrastructure Security Centre hosts the national Critical Infrastructure Security Month (CISM) in November. This is a month of focus and action dedicated to boosting the security and resilience of critical infrastructure across Australia.
As part of CISM, this Friday, 8 November, we will host a virtual town hall to talk about space critical infrastructure from 10:30am -12:00pm AEDT.
It is a shared responsibility to protect and secure Australia’s critical infrastructure, recognised by this year’s theme: Critical Infrastructure Risk Management: A Shared Responsibility!
Join us as we discuss space critical infrastructure covering topics:
- How critical infrastructure is enabled by the Space sector, and the associated sector interdependencies
- Risk management of space assets and space related services
- Raising awareness of space security issues
The town hall will be hosted by Hamish Hansford, Deputy Secretary of Cyber and Infrastructure Security, and we will be joined by guest presenters:
- Dr Cassandra Steer, Deputy Director Mission Specialist at ANU Institute for Space (InSpace) & Chair Australian Centre for Space Governance
- Peter Kerr, Defence & National Security Coordinator at SmartSat
- Rebecca Darcey, COO & CFO at Southern Launch
There will also be time for questions and answers following the presentations.
