FROM THE ARTIST
Koyo (紅葉) refers to the red, orange, and yellow leaves that change colour every autumn, and the tradition of appreciating colours during the autumnal season. Appreciating nature and the changing of the seasons has long been a part of Japanese culture, and this class series is themed around the way in which our dance practices shift seasonally too. Led by Japanese dance practitioners who have been working and learning around the world for some time, the Koyo series is an opportunity to dive into movement practice and pay homage to the seasonal changes that are a part of every dancer’s journey.
