As Australian Croatians, members of our community and our community associations have, over many decades, excelled at helping those in need both here in Australia and those living in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. One could say that our community serves two homelands – the one we live in and the one we left behind but never forgot.

2023 marks 30 years since the Australian Croatian community rallied together to help war-torn Croatia and establish its Diplomatic-Consular missions in Australia with donated funds and donations in kind. Indeed, the office space of the Consulate General of the Republic of Croatia in Sydney was purchased and equipped, so too the Embassy in Canberra, first leased then a palace built with our community's generosity and love. We are so very proud of our Croatian Community’s achievements and wish to use this Thirtieth Anniversary of its enormous generosity to benefit children suffering from cancer via donating to research into curing childhood cancer for which the Children’s Cancer Institute exists. Among these children are also children whose parents or grandparents originate in Croatia and with your help we wish to make their lives better and safer from such an illness.
