ABOUT THE FILM — CRONES: A CELEBRATION
CRONES: A CELEBRATION is an original and subversively defiant documentary that takes on ageism and knocks it out of the ballpark. Against a backdrop of a Bollywood dance group comprised of flamboyant seventy-year-olds, this film zooms in on three diverse women. Karin Kuusk is an amateur Bollywood dancer in her 70s who fulfils her childhood dream of visiting the Taj Mahal, inspired by a renewed sense of community. Natalie Gamsu, an actress struggling to find work in her 60’s, stages an explosive one-woman show, pushing against ageism and sexism in the theatre world with panache and humour. The film’s director, Joshinder Chaggar, plunges into the lives of these women while fulfilling her dream of making a film in her late 40’s. CRONES: A CELEBRATION will have us all wanting to be CRONES.
Runtime - 67 minutes
