Crown Ruler pres. DJ SWISHA

Born in Philadelphia, raised in Los Angeles and currently residing in NYC, DJ SWISHA is an artist widely revered for his cross-genre spins in both DJing and production. He’s an integral part of the Juke Bounce Werk crew alongside like-minded affiliates Jae Drago, DJ Noir and Kush Jones, all bolstering bass-heavy sounds with rolling polyrhythms. 

Equally prolific in his productions as a Fool’s Gold record signee, DJ SWISHA is consistently exciting dance-floors with his own and borrowed beats, ripping up sets while relentlessly bouncing between jersey club, footwork, house, hip hop, jungle and beyond. He’s got a keen eye for picking the right party to play both underground and in-the-know, earning his praise by the Washington Post as a leader in “a new generation of black artists reclaiming the roots of techno music”. 

Alongside him on the tour will be Mirasia - Naarm-based DJ, artist, community leader and mother/co-founder of oceanic ballroom house The House of Silky. With a Boiler Room and several festival sets up her belt both nationally and globally, behind the decks Mirasia champions music for you to get down to, bringing QTBIPOC family to the front.

Catch DJ SWISHA at New Guernica on Friday the 11th of November for a night of bass-lovin' fun with supports from Mirasia, Emelyne, Kalyani, Kassie and  Kāmna.

10pm - 4am. 

This event will take place on the lands of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation. We acknowledge their Elders past and present; their culture, language and ongoing resistance against colonialism. Always Was, Always Will Be.
