For 2023 the Cygnet Singers Christmas concert takes a very unusual turn and becomes more of a production!

"It is understood that 'The Nativity' isn't everyone's focal point of Christmas, some would rather gather around the BBQ in awe and wonder. But remember, when a town in France, a couple of years ago, wanted to ban the Nativity Tableau from the town square, there was a huge outcry, and so they kept it. And so 'the reason for the season' is never as far away as you think."

But what if 2000 years ago the star had appeared all over the world? Our particular story of the journey to the nativity begins in Scotland and instead of the wise men our pilgrim is Hamish, a highland steer, following the Star of Wonder till he gets to Bethlehem. The journey includes many adventures, some hilarious, some sad and covers many countries. There will be a musical commentary from the Singers and our accompanying instrumentalists. Even you the audience, will have to sing along a few times, to help set the scene for Christmas.

This is a family friendly story - 'Inclusive Nativity' is what we probably call it these days, with some great songs and carols - both ancient and modern.
