Description
CULTIVATE: grow a garden that works for you
New to Christchurch? Just moved into your first home? Not sure what to do with your outdoor space? CULTIVATE will help you get started.
Award-winning landscape designer Dan Rutherford joins Richard Till for a relaxed, hands-on workshop on growing herbs, vegetables and other useful plants in compact urban spaces — think balconies, courtyards, raised planters, vertical gardens and small glasshouses.
Together they'll walk you through creating a garden that looks good, grows well, and actually fits the way you live.
You'll cover:
• Where to begin when planning a new garden
• What thrives in Christchurch's climate
• Making the most of small or awkward spaces
• Simple ways to grow your own herbs, vegetables and edible plants
• Practical setups — raised planters, vertical gardens, compact glasshouses
• How to avoid costly mistakes and spend your money where it counts
🪴You'll walk away with some practical take-home resources, plus plenty of inspiration and hands-on tips to help you build a garden you'll love. You'll also go in the draw to win a personal garden consultation with Dan Rutherford, worth $300.
