Cultivating Connections: A Gathering of First Nations Leaders & Grant Makers
Event description
Building bridges of understanding and social connection goes to the heart of what Woor-Dungin does. Each year we bring mob from across Victoria together with Philanthropy in multiple ways, on many occasions and in a variety of places. Whilst we tend to take grant makers on country to hear about what First Nations leaders are doing in their communities. we are excited to convene this "Cultivating Connections: A Gathering of First Nations Leaders and Grant Makers" forum in Collingwood. Not only is it a significant place in terms of the development of First Nations solidarity and activism, but is also the present-day Headquarters of the Yoorrook Justice Commission AND our event hosts, Bank Australia.
Thanks to a generous grant from Bank Australia we are offering representatives of small and large Aboriginal organisations from across the State to engage with grant makers representing a number of philanthropic bodies, to learn from one another and to cultivate some powerful connections.
Check out the full draft program here. Join us for a meal on 26 October, stay for the night in hotel accommodation in the heart of Collingwood (details to be confirmed) and then enjoy our full day's program on 27 October, or simply join us for the Gathering itself on 27 October.
Costs for participants travelling from remote or rural areas will be reimbursed.
