Cultural Aspects of Care & Communication - for CHSP providers

CHSP services support older people from diverse cultural backgrounds. Misunderstandings often arise around communication, family expectations, grief rituals, conflict styles, and decision‑making. This workshop strengthens cultural awareness and practical skills for culturally safe home support.

Learning Outcomes:

• Understand cultural influences on communication and behaviour

• Navigate cultural differences in grief, conflict, and family roles

• Provide culturally safe home support

• Respond respectfully to cultural expectations and rituals

• Strengthen trust and rapport with older people and families
