Event description

Join us for a 2-hour cultural awareness session designed to build understanding, respect and connection with Aboriginal people and culture. Delivered by experienced Aboriginal facilitators from the Koorie Heritage Trust, this interactive session offers a welcoming and culturally safe environment for community members to learn about the rich diversity of Aboriginal cultures in Victoria.

Participants will explore key concepts of cultural competency, gain insight into Aboriginal identity, family, Country, and the Dreaming, and understand the historical and contemporary impacts of colonisation. The session highlights the importance of respectful engagement and effective communication with Aboriginal individuals and communities.

Whether you're new to Aboriginal cultural learning or continuing your journey, this session encourages open discussion, reflection, and shared learning. It’s a meaningful first step in supporting reconciliation and building stronger, more informed community relationships.

Come with curiosity and leave with deeper understanding and inspiration to continue your cultural learning journey. All are welcome.
