Continue your journey of knowledge and insight into te ao Māori
This is a 6 week course, with 2 hour classes held each week on a Wednesday. Alongside others, you will build on your understanding of te ao Māori principles and values and learn how this knowledge and practice can strengthen your self-place and your workplace. You will become confident in applying a te ao Māori lens in your workplace and co-learn as part of a relaxed, fun and supportive learning environment.
Topics covered:
1. Review all level 1 content. Go deeper on pepeha and introduction to karapīpiti; (wharenui symbolism) and application personally
2. Treaty of Waitangi overview including articles & key principles of partnership, protection and participation
3. Applying te ao Māori values and marae principles into your workplace in general
4. Applying te ao Māori values and principles to workplace specifics (e.g. negotiation, dispute resolution, hui, building team relationships)
5. Visit local sites and learn stories from local hapū/iwi to develop and strengthen local relationships
6. Learn mihi, karakia, waiata and whakatauki to use in various settings and hui in your workplace
