Ngāti Manuhiri Settlement Trust Cultural Induction
Event description
This event is for Restore Rodney East groups.
Our friends at Ngāti Manuhiri Settlement Trust, are gifting you (the volunteers and campaigners for the environment), the opportunity to attend a very special group cultural induction with Restore Rodney East.
A cultural induction is a way to come together, to understand the historical journey Ngati Manuhiri has travelled, as well as understanding the challenges and changes that shape all of who we are today.
As most groups will appreciate, this is normally an induction that is carried out on request to the Trust with a fee payable - we thank the Trust for their very generous gift.
A number of our Rodney East groups and individuals have been through this very positive experience previously, and in consideration of the numbers of likely attendees we would ask that the spaces available be given first to those who are most involved in establishing projects, or drawing up proposals and requests where consideration for cultural matters are paramount. We will give an update of ticketing numbers in the next 2 weeks, inviting further participants if space allows.
However, we would also encourage each group to have a cross section of your team attending this special event - as well as the cultural induction itself we will be discussing how best to work through processes such as applying for grants where support from our mana whenua is required to be documented. The Trust is a small team and RRE and all groups will benefit from knowing how and when best to engage within project lifecycles.
Doors Open 10am for morning tea, with the cultural induction starting at 10.30am.
The day will wrap up around 12.30pm.
Koha towards this event is much appreciated at time of ticketing/registering below
