This training aligns to Capability 3 - Working with diverse consumers, families and communities.

Building on the foundations of Cultural Intelligence (CQ) in Mental Health Care, Level 2 develops advanced clinical cultural responsiveness through practical application, reflective practice, clinical formulation, and experiential learning.

Across six modules, practitioners explore how culture can shape both vulnerability and resilience, and develop the skills to recognise and work therapeutically with the cultural, spiritual, social, and systemic factors influencing the mental health and wellbeing of Muslim & CARM clients, families, and communities.

Module 1: Culturally Intelligent approaches to Psychotherapy with Muslim Clients (A);

Module 2: Culturally Intelligent approaches to Psychotherapy with Muslim Clients (B);

Module 3: Psycho-Spiritual coping mechanisms drawn on by Muslims;

Module 4: Mental Health promotion with Muslim communities;

Module 5: The Psychological Impact of Racism & Islamophobia and stereotypes on Muslim mental health;

Module 6: Addressing family violence in Muslim families

Pre-reading will be provided. Participants are encouraged to attend Level 1 prior to attending Level 2, but it is not a pre-requisite.

This session will be delivered in-person in the training facilities at Victorian Collaborative Centre for Mental Health & Wellbeing.
