Cultural Responsiveness and Trauma Informed Practice Training
Event description
VACCA is the lead training provider of cultural awareness training to workplaces, organisations, and government departments across various sectors, prioritising the Victorian Child and Family Services sector.
This training program is designed to provide participants with an introduction to trauma informed practice and culturally safe ways for working with Aboriginal peoples. It provides an increased understanding of the effects of intergenerational trauma, grief and loss on Aboriginal communities and supports participants to build their confidence to support culturally safe partnerships, Aboriginal peoples, communities and organisations.
Cultural Responsiveness and Trauma Informed Practice themes include:
1. Trauma Informed Care and Practice
2. Impacts of Colonisation
3. First Nations Worldviews and Family Structures
4. Power, Privilege and Wise Practice
5. Self Determination and Genuine Partnerships
Training information:
This training runs over 1.5 days
Day one: 9:30am-4:30pm
Day two: 9:30am-1:00pm
Please arrive by 9:15am to ensure a smooth start.
