    Making Culture make Sense. Myths, Methods & Missteps!

    Culture. It’s talked about daily in workplace conversations and regularly in the media as part of critical commentary on business health, performance and in some cases, demise! Some organisations take it seriously and invest in shaping and managing culture, others do a lot more talking than doing and still many believe it’s intangible and impossible to measure or manage.

    When you consider the big questions being asked of organisations and leaders today, there’s an underlying and often unasked question that is critical to success. Does our culture support our performance goals, enable us to delivery on our strategic objectives, and support our ability to evolve and change with the times?

    Predictions for 2024 and beyond are that it will soon be commonplace for boards and executive teams to measure, monitor and report on culture rather than engagement, and that there is a growing expectation that the link between culture and business performance outcomes are made clearer in this work. In our 2023 State of Culture research, we found that even though culture was being discussed at board and C-suite level, very few organisations were investing in it.
