CURIOSITY: Tiny Worlds
Description
Try something new.
CURIOSITY is Creative Curiosity’s monthly exploration series, a chance to experiment with different analog crafts, creative tools, and hands-on processes.
One month we might sew, another we might make books, experiment with printmaking, or try something neither of us has done before.
You don’t have to decide that this is your new thing. You get to spend a couple of hours finding out what happens when you try it.
This Month
Build a tiny place. Give it a story.
Create a miniature world from paper, found objects, tiny figures, and other curious materials.
In this workshop, we’ll experiment with miniature making and scene building, creating tiny worlds inside small containers.
Maybe yours becomes a peaceful garden, a cozy room, a tiny pond, a roadside motel, a miniature library, or someplace entirely invented. We’ll play with scale, composition, layering, and small details to give your world a sense of place.
Then we’ll bring our worlds to life.
Who lives there? What are they doing? What happened five minutes ago? What might happen next? A duck could be enjoying a very luxurious bath. Dinosaurs might be having an important meeting. A tiny motel could have one very peculiar guest. Or maybe nothing unusual is happening at all.
Your world can be cozy, funny, strange, nostalgic, peaceful, surreal, or some combination of all of them.
There’s no single scene we’re trying to reproduce. You’ll have materials, examples, prompts, and guidance to get started, then plenty of room to experiment and follow your story wherever it goes.
By the end, you’ll leave with a miniature world small enough to hold in your hands and a story that belongs entirely to it.

FAQs
- Where can I park?
There is plenty of parking in the back of the house, down the hill. There is also parking across the street (on the other side the crosswalk) as well as on either side of the 4-way stop.
