Textile Artist and tutor who will take you on a journey upcycling your clothing to breathe new life into a loved piece.

Do you have a garment in your wardrobe that you haven't worn for a while but just can't throw away? Maybe its not the right size, colour pallette or its just not current anymore, a gifted piece from a loved one that just wasnt quite right, an edgy pattern you loved but the fit wasnt perfect.

Look at that piece of clothing - what do you like about it, weave, colour , pattern, style ? Aukje can help you repurpose that item into something new and exciting !

Adding other material from unwanted clothing or embroidery and embellishments spend a fun and relaxing weekend learning how to redesign a loved item

You package includes a

• weekend workshop led by Aujke Boonstra - Tasmanian local textile artist who runs many workshops and exhibitions in Tasmania and has a love of transforming fashion

• 1 nights accommodation at the highly rated local motel Riverview at Ross

• Refreshments

This workshop would suit attendees with sewing experience - handsewing is an option in the class but being able to bring your own sewing machine is preferred

Aukje will bring items from her own collection for reference and inspiration

List of items to bring with you :

• 1 item of clothing you wish to transform

• other material , clothing you can cut up, embellishments you may want to add

• matching and contrasting sewing thread

• knitting and embroidery yarn

• sewing kit with needles and scissors for fabric and embroidery

• Sewing machine needles and thread

• Sewing machine in working order you can operate without needing instruction (can be yours or borrowed)

• Comfy cushion , warm clothing, own lunch if not wanting to purchase in Ross
