Cyanotype Workshop

Join us in a guided session of cyanotype printing!

As the exhibition 'We Built A House Out of Water' comes to a close, we are offering a free workshop of cyanotype print making guided by exhibiting artist, Peta Duncan.

In this hands-on creative workshop, participants will learn how to coat paper with light-sensitive chemicals, arrange and collage objects and imagery, and develop striking blue-and-white prints using sunlight or UV light. Participants will also have the opportunity to explore bleaching and toning their prints to create sepia tones.

**All supplies and imagery will be provided however, if participants wish to print their own specific objects or imagery it is strongly encourage to prepare your own negatives in advance and bring them along.

By the end of the session, participants will create their own unique cyanotype artworks to take home while gaining an understanding of how this historic process can be used for artistic expression, storytelling, and creative experimentation.

About the Artist:

Peta Duncan is a self-taught, emerging lens-based artist using alternative print making processes. Her work is both an exploration of her identity and a love letter to her culture and community. Through Peta’s work, she intertwines and lays bare complex familial relationships, and the juxtapositions of embedding cultural practice in different contemporary photographic mediums and approaches.
