    Cyberdelics Lecture and VR Journey

    2:30pm – doors open

    3:00pm Lecture

    4:00 – 6:00pm Stroboscopic and VR experiences

Cyberdelics apply ancient and modern technologies to induce altered states of consciousness that are similar to psychedelics. In other words, they create trips without the drugs. Cyberdelics include AI-generated trip simulations, VR games and experiences inspired by psychedelics, stroboscopic light therapy that generates hallucinations, and other cutting-edge technology and art.

Psychedelic researcher and XR developer, Melissa Warner delves into what this means with a presentation on cyberdelics, followed by a chance for you to experience your very own 25 min VR trip.

This presentation is a Cyberdelic journey. A collaboration of human & technology; ideas, guided meditation, & reflections are seamlessly matched with bespoke 3D imagery. This lecture will explore the cultural evolution, design theory, research & live experience of this emergent technology. We will explore how cyberdelics create liminal ritual spaces that challenge for-granted ways of being & offer opportunities for insight.

Technology from the Greek tekhnologia, is the "systematic treatment of an art, craft, or technique". Yet, as we design technology, technology designs us back. As Aldous Huxley warned us 60 years ago, “technology was made for men & not men for technology” & unconscious use of technology is a means by which we may come to “love our slavery”.  Fast forward to the attention economy, how do we break free?

Can cyberdelics help us redefine our relationship with technology? How are Cyberdelics being used in psychedelic assisted therapy? Can wise use of technology re-orient us to nature, meaning, & enhance collective wellbeing for a regenerative future?

VR headsets are limited so a booking is essential.

For another mind-altering experience, try out a stroboscopic light experience. To learn more about Stroboscopic light experiences read here: “Can this light make you high”

    Psychedelic Supper

    6:00pm – 9:00pm

Voytek Bereza will host a Psychedelic Supper in the Sporulation exhibition space. This is a chance for like-minded people to come together and discuss all things psychedelic in a safe and accepting environment. Note: no psychedelics are consumed during the event.

Relax to the tunes of Lime Sky and enjoy some great food and vibes to finish off your Cyberdelic Sunday!
