Advancing the WPS Agenda in Cybersecurity and Protection of Civilians: 2-day Workshop
Description
Australia's second National Action Plan (NAP) on Women, Peace and Security (WPS) outlines how Australia will implement its commitments as part of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 and the broader WPS agenda.
Humanitarian Advisory Group (HAG) is organising a two-day workshop in Sydney to delve into two thematic issues relevant to the WPS agenda, bringing together a range of groups, experts, thinkers and practitioners. The insights from this workshop - and other engagements during the year - will form the basis for reports that will identify opportunities and provide recommendations for Australian Government implementing agencies to strengthen NAP implementation.
Day 1 will provide an opportunity to consult with and bring together subject matter experts including the private sector, who are based in Sydney, on cybersecurity issues and linkages with the NAP.
Day 2 will focus on how the NAP can better support efforts in the protecting civilians during armed conflict and aims to connect experts, diaspora groups, community organisations and other networks.
