Dads & Daughters Self-Defence Class presented by the KYUP! Project

Event description

Westfield Warringah Mall have partnered with the KYUP! Project on a mission to end the cycle of domestic violence. Writer, speaker, media commentator, mother of two girls, black belt and KYUP! Project founder Mel Thomas will connect Dads/guardians and their daughters to show young women the support and respect they deserve, with a few martial arts moves to instil confidence and empower them.

The workshop offers dads/guardians and their daughters a tailored, fun, safe, hands-on class that teaches personal safety tips and simple self-defence techniques anyone can use, no matter their size or skill level. Mel shares her personal experience with domestic violence and conducts the workshop using examples of real-life scenarios that kids relate to - such as public transport, public places and parties.

Join Mel at Westfield Warringah Mall for an empowering session, accompanied by light refreshments. Register now to secure your spot, and support the women and girls surrounding you!

Date: Saturday 7th September

Time: 2:00pm - 3:30pm

Location: Ground Level, located in The Suite

Please note: One ticket per attendee is required for the event. The workshops are generally specified for audiences 8 years old and over, due to the nature of the content.
