Dairy HIGH2 Roadshow - North East
Description
Reducing synthetic nitrogen on dairy farms: Dairy HIGH2 results roadshow
Our long-term farmlet trial investigating ways to reduce synthetic nitrogen fertiliser use on pasture-based dairy farms is coming to an end, and we’re hitting the road to share the findings with dairy farmers and industry across Tasmania.
As part of the Dairy HIGH2 program, funded by Dairy Australia, this project set out to explore whether dairy farms can significantly reduce synthetic nitrogen inputs while maintaining high levels of pasture and milk production. Following three full lactation seasons, the trial has now delivered a comprehensive dataset that provides valuable insights for Tasmanian dairy systems.
In collaboration with Dairy Australia, we are inviting dairy farmers and industry to join us for an on-farm discussion of the key observations and findings from this trial and how learnings could be applied on your farm next season.
What you’ll hear about:
Practical insights from the host farm
Dairy HIGH2 trial results including pasture production and cow performance
Clover establishment, persistence, and productivity considerations
Strategic nitrogen use and considerations for urea alternatives
Fertiliser supply outlook and planning for the coming season
Opportunities to get involved in our upcoming focus farms
