Event description
Join us at Dairy Road for the return of the Dairy Road Markets, on Sunday 5 December 12-5pm. Please indicate when you wish to arrive by selecting a time when you purchase your ticket. This will help to avoid over-crowding. You will be able to pick up your wine glass at the event after the time specified on your ticket.
The markets bring together wine tastings by Cellar Door, a selection of art and crafts by CraftACT, works from Molonglo’s Art and Objects Collection, local produce, handmade objects, secondhand clothing, music by DJ Mark Mallett and all-ages play activities.
Many of the businesses at Dairy Road will also be open to the public as part of the market.Â
Tickets are $12 and include a Cellar Door stemless wine glass. Under-18s attend free.Â
From February 2022, the markets will be hosted on the first Sunday of every month. They are weather-proof, COVID-safe and accessible. Parking is available on-site.
About:
Cellar Door presents eight local wineries and distillers at LESS, a public artwork and space designed by Chile-based practice Pezo von Ellrichshausen.Â
CraftACT will showcase some of Canberra's best designers, working across a wide range of mediums. Meet the makers and purchase pieces that aren't for sale elsewhere.Â
Molonglo’s Art and Objects Collection is an evolving study of the human and natural world. The collection is made up of an ever-expanding range of visual works, furnishings, cultural and natural objects. At the Dairy Road Market Molonglo will be presenting a curated selection of 30 artworks, objects and furniture for sale.Â
Dairy Road is a neighbourhood being slowly developed by Molonglo in Canberra’s East Lake over the next 10 to 15 years. Currently it is made up of warehouses, some office buildings and vehicle yards. It’s rare to have so much space in the heart of a city and yet, here she lies flanked by highways on one side and the Jerrabomberra Wetlands on the other.
