    Event description

Come on down to Mamma Chen’s on Saturday 30th November for an afternoon of blissful music! Doors at 2pm, $15 including BF

Daisypicker (fka Nadia Phillips band) will be conjuring sounds of folk and rock, driven by the fervent lyrical lens of love, longing and loss which are bound to make your heart ache and flutter. They will have tote-bags and cds for sale to fund their upcoming album recording so bring some $$$!

Joining them will be the rockstar April May band and the always entrancing Lucy Harrington:
April May is an up and coming 5-piece folk band from Naarm who draw influence from early legends like Neil Young, Townes Van Zandt and Bob Dylan while also seeking inspiration from Big Thief, Alex G and ambient works. They are the idea of teaching yourself how to sing and singing with your whole chest while not knowing a thing about it. They are the feeling of playing music for many years and still not knowing basic music knowledge. Walking out of an April May show can cause some confusion, as you may be in the suburbs of Fitzroy, but your brain is telling you it's Laurel Canyon. Let’s see if their mystery works on you.
Lucy Harrington is a singer/songwriter living and writing on Wurundjeri land. Harnessing a sound that lies somewhere between indie and folk with pop sensibilities, her honest and unflinching storytelling is steeped in raw emotion and fresh perspective. Lucy navigates identity, grief, womanhood and heartbreak with a wit and wisdom fostered by the likes of Angel Olsen, Julia Jacklin and Adrianne Lenker. Her sticky melodies will have you moving your feet, and stay with you long after you finish crying.
