Dalicados return to the Taproom
Event description
Dalicados are known for stellar live performances at Taproom and everywhere! It's easy to see why they endear a loyal following as they captivate audiences with their electrifyingly soulful storytelling through rock music and recorded works.
After enduring the disruptions of Covid lockdowns during 2020 & 2021, Dalicados faced another challenge as remarkable songsmith James Lomas lead vocalist and guitarist, was diagnosed with a rare kidney condition needing dialysis for two and a half years while waiting for a kidney transplant.
A donor was found quite close by - his wife Fiona - and the band were welcomed by a full house and overwhelming emotional response from the audience for their first show back in Melbourne.
Dalicados have invited Fiona Lee Maynard to open the musical event with a showcase of her songs mainly written and recorded whilst waiting to donate a kidney to her husband, mostly written in the hours he spent on dialysis. The songs are surprisingly optimistic and her album is triumph of spirit as well as songwriting.
Arrive early, this will be a night to remember!
