Event description
After an extraordinary South Island fringe tour where literally tens of people saw the show, Dan brings his 2024 festival show home to Christchurch for one last acoustic, unplugged, homecoming finale. Come say goodbye to some routines that are getting too old to be even vaguely topical, and that are too young to be considered nostalgia.
Over the course of the pandemic Dan Bain went from being one of Ōtautahi Christchurch’s most prestigious and respected arts leaders to being a call centre operator, unable to leave the house without his ‘anxiety knife’. These are the jokes about that.
Hubris.
Failure.
Knives.
A true “comedian’s comedian” in the Ōtautahi comedy scene, Bain's career has an embarrassing number of accolades and achievements that he’s never quite pivoted into either fame or financial success. Bain's mantle is adorned with numerous awards, including nominations for "Best Improv Show" at the NZ Comedy Guild Awards 2023 and a slew of wins at the Christchurch Comedy Awards 2023:
