Sun, Sep 7, 4pm - 5:30pm EDT

Event description

The incomparable gypsy jazz clarinetist Dan Elias will perform with guest musicians right here on our stage, the first Sunday of every month.

You might know Dan through Swing du Jour, which has performed around the Hudson Valley (including in our humble store) and The Brooklyn Swing Ensemble. Each month, Dan will bring a new band to our stage, so that we can experience some of the best the Hudson Valley has to offer.

September’s performance will feature Reckon So, with sounds of honky tonk, western swing, and bluegrass.

Dan Elias Presents will take place the first Sunday of every month, each time featuring a different guest musician. Please come and enjoy! What a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Tickets $20, here or at the door.

About Reckon So

Reckon So is Danny Weiss & Mary Olive Smith.  They have been on NYC's music scene since their official debut in 2005, but have been making music together for years. Danny & MO's natural connection on stage, great tunes, hot picking, dynamic vocals, sweet duets and a mix of Americana, Roots Country, Honky-Tonk, Western Swing and Bluegrass always make for an infectious good time. The two have long roots in bands like Tony Trischka & SKYLINE, The SMOKIES, SILK CITY, NYC's ALPHABET CITY OPRY, and others.

Danny Weiss (when not otherwise occupied as Director of the Fanwood Memorial Library) has been playing the guitar and singing for over 50 years and was a founding member of the ground-breaking contemporary bluegrass band, Tony Trischka & Skyline.

Mary Olive Smith, who, along with her North Carolina roots, brings to the mix an infectious energy and sweet singing, was an original member of the New York's Alphabet City Opry and has performed and recorded with Clem Snide, Mark Seliger & Rusty Truck and Greg Garing. Mary Olive is also an Emmy award-winning documentary producer, who continues to address socially relevant issues through her films.
