Dan Garner Trio: East of the West
Event description
Dan Garner is a Guitarist from Perth, WA. Originally based in the country, he moved to the city to pursue music. Since then he has performed at the Perth International Jazz Festival multiple times, King Street Corner Pocket Festival, RTRFM's 'Jazz Supreme,' and toured nationally with the Gemma Farrell Quintet.
In 2021 he released his debut album 'East of the West.' Garner was nominated for 'Guitarist of the Year' by WAM in 2022, and for 'Best Jazz Act' in 2024. In the last twelve months he has released music with the Mace Francis Orchestra, the Gemma Farrell Quintet and Matt Smith's 'Driftwood.' He also played with the Perth All Star Big Band supporting PIJF festival headliner Lisa Simone in 2023.
For the first time he is playing as a band leader on the east coast. This performance sees him playing material from his debut release, as well as some newer original material from an as yet unnamed release, combined with some of his old favourites.
