Dance Detox
Event description
90 minutes of free and guided movement with an experienced dance teacher and accredited dance and movement therapist. Be creative, find freedom in movement and mind.
No dance experience necessary - it’s not about mastery of skill, it’s about mastery of yourself.
We will:
Warm up by moving each body part gently. Play with dynamics of movement: speed, focus, intention, directions.
Use a prop to spark movement. Tell a story. Share in someone else's story.
Cool down with stretches and meditation.
Shake out
Take the everyday niggles and turn them into movement.
Let them go, throw them away, put them in their place.
Indulge in
Find the movement that works for you in the moment. Remember why you are such a great person. Make shapes to represent all the things you love and dwell on all the good stuff.
Relax the mind
Get mindless as you spend 90 minutes not thinking about work, the shopping, cleaning, bills....
Energise the soul
Connect with others, learn about yourself, clean out the bad stuff and let in the good.
