Please join us for an energetic and joyful performance of In Real Life - Dance Nexus 2023.
Dance Nexus is a dance-in-schools program facilitated by DRILL Performance Company Inc, Hobart’s youth dance company. Dance Nexus has been running annually since 2015 across many regions in lutruwita/Tasmania. We are excited to have partnered with Montrose Bay High School allowing us to work with students in grades 5 - 8 from Montrose Bay High School, Austins Ferry Primary, Windermere Primary, Goodwood Primary and Glenorchy Primary.
Dance Nexus gives students the opportunity to participate in quality arts creation, to build personal attributes through collaborative creative process, and to share and showcase their achievements in this professionally produced performance.
The theme for this year’s performance is In Real Life. Over the past 5 weeks students have been guided by professional dance artists HK Vermeulen, Brianna Shahin and DRILL Artistic Director Bec Dundas to consider the theme. The students made their own unique movement, collaborating with their peers to build new performance pieces.
This program fosters a great surge of personal development socially and physically in the students and facilitates a huge sense of team achievement as they share in this public performance experience.
