Dance With Us | CoExist Open Class
Event description
We are excited to invite you to open contemporary dance classes with CoExist in May 2024!
Join us for movement on Monday mornings. Each session will explore contemporary dance and improvisation alongside unique interests from each facilitator. Participants are guided through a 75 minute class with a focus on expanding creativity, building contemporary technique and making space for you to move your body. All abilities are welcome!
Each class goes towards our goal of creating inclusive & accessible spaces for emerging artists and supporting our newest upcoming project (stay tuned!!).
April/ May Facilitators:
Monday 29th April | Enzo Nazario | A technique class which focuses on building group rapport within a class setting, through partnering and lots of floor work.
Monday 6th May | Jack Birdseye | A floorwork class with an emphasis on efficiency and transitions between movement, creating an overall flow.
Monday 13th May | Misch Kurzeme | Class begins with a slow, somatic warm up, gradually incorporating improvisation practice and finishing with some phrasework.
Monday 20th May | Jel Menta | Class begins on the floor, then moves into the centre of your body focusing on weight distribution and tension control.
Classes will be taking place at Dancehouse in the Upstairs studio from 9:00am - 10:15am every Monday.
