Description

This concert will focus on music composed around the theme of dances both old and recent. The title itself is that of one of the exciting pieces composed by well-known guitarist and composer, Richard Charlton. So it will be quite a lively and toe-tapping concert!

Once again the Melbourne Mandolin Orchestra will be conducted by Darryl Barron and we are delighted to have some extra guest players taking part in this concert.

The Melbourne Mandolin Orchestra was established in the late 1960s and has entertained audiences in Melbourne, regional Victoria, interstate and in concert tours in Japan and in Europe for nearly 60 years. Its players include professional musicians and keen amateur players of mandolins, mandalas, mandocellos, classical guitars and double basses. The orchestra is self funded and has release a number of high quality recordings on CDs which are available for sale at its concerts. The orchestra operates a trust fund for tax deductible donations to assist its operations and the promotion of the mandolin orchestra repertoire.
