Community Ecstatic Dance
Description
Ecstatic Dance is a conscious, free-form movement practice that invites you to connect deeply with your body, your breath, and your inner experience. With no steps to follow and no right or wrong way to move, it offers a space for freedom, presence, release, and authentic expression.
This practice can be a powerful way to shift energy, process emotion, awaken creativity, and return to yourself beyond words. At its heart, Ecstatic Dance is about listening inward, moving honestly, and being part of a shared space where each person is free to follow their own rhythm in connection with the whole.
We are very fortunate to gather in a beautiful yurt on an elderflower farm. If you feel called to, you are welcome to move beyond the yurt and let the surrounding land become part of your dance. We are often visited by horses, and there is a strong sense of being held by the natural beauty of the farm.
The Boundaries:
No Talking-
There is no talking during the dance, this helps maintain a quiet, grounded space and allowing our attention to stay focused on our bodies and our movements.
No Tech -
We ask that you leave phones and other technology outside the dance so we can connect more deeply with ourselves, each other, and the present moment.
No Shoes –
The yurt is a no-shoes space. If it feels right for you, you are also welcome to try dancing barefoot carefully in the fields to feel more grounded and connected to the land.
No Booze –
This is a sober event, supporting a conscious and fully present experience of movement.
