In the midst of dance and movement there exists the possibility of reaching ecstatic states of being.

It isn't called ecstatic dance for nothing!

Embodying ecstasy through such a practice is not only possible but very real for many people.

I (Cain) have experienced it myself so many times on the dance floor, be it at a guided ecstatic dance event, or outdoors in the middle of the forest at a music festival.
I would not be the man I am, and my heart would not be as expressive and liberated as it is without such experiences.

To be clear, ecstasy doesn't have to look or sound a particular way. Of course, some people experience it very viscerally and will let the whole world hear it through their moans of pleasure. For others, it is more subtle, internal, yet still deeply present.
It's a distinct shift in one's state of being to a state of feeling more open, sensual, expansive, connected, grounded, and liberated.

It is my passion to create safe spaces for people to reach such states within themselves, and to know these expanded parts of who they are, beyond their everyday self. Especially beyond whatever stories or mental limitations and beliefs may be weighing them down.

Come and dance with us and allow yourself the opportunity to let go of your inhibitions, release any negativity or self-doubt, and learn the art of reaching ecstasy.

Dancing Freedom is a deeply somatic practice that encourages and supports the creative expression of each participant. It is a guided dance journey through an elemental wave, tapping into the power of underlying forces that make up life as we know it: earth, water, fire, air, and ether.

By coming together in community and dancing in this way, we each help to co-create a metaphorical cauldron where emotions may be stirred, creative juices can flow, and energetic shifts happen.

It is a safe space to explore the landscape of your being in a deeply embodied and conscious way.

Everyone has their own unique way to move their body, and everyone is on their own journey.

* There is no wrong way to move your body.

* There are no moves to learn.

* You do not need prior dance experience.

* You are welcome as you are

The invitation is to bring a willingness to deepen the connection to yourself; to allow your body to move as it wants to be moved; to open yourself to feeling and expressing what is alive in you.

Ecstatic Dance has the potential to bring you into a state of flow. It's that state you enter when you're completely absorbed and immersed in something. When you lose all sense of self and time.

That's flow.

Experiencing a state of flow while dancing can reduce anxiety, boost your mood, and leave you feeling amazing and connected to yourself for days after.

Ecstatic Dance is also a potent form of creativity, one that enables radical self-expression in a very somatic and embodied way.

It can be practised by ANYONE!

A little about Cain:

Cain has been in love with music for most of his life, and for the past 10 years has fallen deeply in love with dance and movement. What started as hugely transformative experiences dancing barefoot in the Australian outback at music festivals, has now evolved into a deep reverence and respect for the power of music and dance. Dancing has brought Cain some of the greatest shifts in his psyche and has taught him so much about who he is at his core; the primal essence that exists underneath all the stories, beliefs, fears, and doubts. Inspired to share and offer his passion in a bigger way, in 2018 Cain became a certified facilitator of Dancing Freedom.

Cain is also deeply immersed in men's work, currently co-leading a weekly men's group on the Gold Coast within the Samurai Brotherhood, a global men's organisation. With over 5 years of experience in men's work, Cain has developed a unique strength of providing a clear, safe, and grounded space for those he works with, and weaving that into his ecstatic dance facilitation.

A little about Anne:

Music and Dance are at the obsession of Anne's existence. She dabbles in DJing, has trained in various dance styles, has taught dance, choreographed, and continues to be involved in dance performances at Festivals and Events. She has trained in Kundalini Dance Facilitation, is certified in the Inner Dance process, and has facilitated Inner Dance in Bali, the Philippines, Vanuatu, Melbourne, Sydney, the Gold Coast, and at Rainbow Serpent Festival. Self-discovery, healing, connection, and joy are what have kept Anne on ecstatic dance floors around Australia and the world for almost a decade. She is excited to be sharing the magic and medicine of Dancing Freedom with the Gold Coast and beyond.

PARKING: there may be a few spaces to park on Karen Ave, otherwise, there is parking on Cronulla Ave, and also at the big car-park where the Cash Converters and Jetts gym are located.
