Dance is the work of art we create when we embrace ALL the parts of ourselves wholeheartedly.

We don’t need to be or look ‘perfect’.

By simply showing up authentically as we are, we get to watch our lives unfold on the blank canvas of the dancefloor…

To a place where we can move ourselves into new thoughts, creations and realities.

The dance is like our ‘Kintsugi’.

Kintsugi is the Japanese art of putting broken pottery pieces back together with gold.

The essence of Kintsugi is that by highlighting the flaws and imperfections, an even stronger, more unique, beautiful and resilient piece of art emerges.

It is a reminder of the beauty of human fragility - to remain optimistic when things are falling apart - to celebrate the flaws and failures within ourselves and our lives.

Accepting and loving ALL the parts of ourselves – perfect or imperfect - brings with it, a sense of exhalation. It is a gateway to inner freedom and serenity.

The ‘imperfections’ within ourselves and our lives, create foundations and space for the magic to come in. The ‘imperfections’ help us to recognise and appreciate the ‘perfect’ when it arrives.

Without my (Anne) imperfections, I would never have found Dancing Freedom™.

My imperfections have brought me strength and courage; allowed me to slow down, appreciate more, and live life more fully; pushed me to self-care, self-love and explore more; taught me to let go of expectations, live in the moment, and have gratitude for being alive.

And I have danced it all.

On the dancefloor, we get to practice life in flow and life in chaos. We get to practice not giving a F🙌CK about what others think of us...

To practice not giving a F🙌CK about the negative thoughts we think about ourselves.

We become liberated.

What we think of ourselves matters.

But sometimes, what we think of ourselves may not always be true or kind.

How can we be more loving to ourselves in these moments?

One way is by ...

Showing up.

Despite. It. All.

When we don’t show up, we’re abandoning a part of ourselves. We miss an opportunity for growth, healing, and self-love. Showing up demonstrates power, courage, strength, determination and integrity. It paves the way for a brighter and happier YOU.

We each have a unique point of difference in this world. Whether it fits the societal mould or not, it’s yours and that is perfect! Sometimes we can be our own worst critic and that holds us back from bringing our exquisite gifts to the world. The world needs us to love ourselves and one another just as we are, with all our perfect imperfections. When we are authentic in our imperfections, we give others permission to be their perfectly imperfect selves too.

So, let’s Dance, Love, Encourage, and Support one another in Community, through our ‘Perfect Imperfections’!

Dancing Freedom™ is a somatic practice that encourages and supports your creative expression - a guided dance journey through an elemental wave, tapping into the power of underlying forces that make up life as we know it: earth, water, fire, air, and ether.

By coming together in community and dancing in this way, we each help to co-create a metaphorical cauldron where emotions may be stirred, radical self-expression can be celebrated, and energetic shifts happen.

It is a safe space to explore the landscape of your being in an embodied and conscious way.

Everyone has their own unique way to move their body, and everyone is on their own journey.

* There are no moves to learn

* You do not need prior dance experience

* You are welcome as you are

Ecstatic Dance has the potential to bring you into a state of flow. It's that state you enter when you're completely absorbed and immersed in something. When you lose all sense of self and time.

That's flow.

Experiencing a state of flow whilst dancing can reduce anxiety, boost your mood, and leave you feeling amazing & connected to yourself for days after.

A little about Anne:

Music and Dance are at the obsession of Anne's existence. She dabbles in DJing, has trained in various dance styles, has taught dance, choreographed, and continues to be involved in dance performances at Festivals and Events. She has trained in Kundalini Dance Facilitation, is certified in the Inner Dance process, and has facilitated Inner Dance in Bali, the Philippines, Vanuatu, Melbourne, Sydney, the Gold Coast, and at Rainbow Serpent Festival. Self-discovery, healing, connection, and joy are what have kept Anne on ecstatic dance floors around Australia and the world for almost a decade. She is excited to be sharing the magic and medicine of Dancing Freedom™ with the Gold Coast and beyond.

A little about Cain:

What started as hugely transformative experiences dancing barefoot in the Australian outback at music festivals, has now evolved into a deep reverence and respect for the power of music and dance. Dancing has brought Cain some of the greatest shifts in his psyche and has taught him so much about who he is at his core; the primal essence that exists underneath all the stories, beliefs, fears, and doubts. Inspired to share and offer his passion in a bigger way, in 2018 Cain became a certified facilitator of Dancing Freedom™.

Cain is also immersed in men's work, currently co-leading a weekly men's group on the Gold Coast within the Samurai Brotherhood, a global men's organisation. With over 5 years of experience in men's work, Cain has developed a unique strength of providing a clear, safe, and grounded space for those he works with, and weaving that into his ecstatic dance facilitation.
