Dancing Freedom with Sara-Jane:
An invitation to come together to move through these times with awareness and compassion.

Dance as food, as nourishment, a delicious elixir of connection, a soothing balm for a busy mind, an energising tonic for the spirit, a healing salve for the wounded heart, dance is medicine.

As life continues to shift and change, how can we lean into the medicine of dance to support health & wellbeing on both an individual & collective level?

Welcome home to the practice of Dancing Freedom. Dancing Freedom is a global mindfulness movement supporting liberation, community and leadership through the sacred medicine of dance. Dancing Freedom engages the medicine of movement - free-form, conscious dance and ceremony, taking you on an elemental dance wave through Earth, Water, Fire, Air & Ether.

About Sara-Jane Cleland:
Sara-Jane Cleland is a Yoga Teacher, Dancing Freedom Facilitator, Naturopath, Herbalist, Nutritionist and Massage Therapist who lives on Gundungurra land in the Southern Highlands, NSW.

Her journey as a holistic practitioner began 30 years ago as a Yoga teacher and organically evolved to include Bodywork, Naturopathy and Conscious Dance. In 2016, she discovered 5 rhythms dance on retreat with Gina Chick and became a passionate advocate for conscious dance. At the end of 2018, she journeyed to Byron Bay for intensive facilitator training in Dancing Freedom.

Since 2019, she has held monthly Dancing Freedom events, offering this powerful dance practice to her local community. In 2021, she designed a course - Women's Embodied Journey through the 5 Elements - which combines meditation, a women's sharing circle and a dancing freedom journey.

She has collaborated with Anna Clarke to offer monthly Red Tent Women's circles and yearly Nurture & Nourish Women's retreats for the past 6 years.

Her passion is connection, connection to the innate healing power of the body, connection in community, co-creating and supporting each other, connection to oneself, your whole loving being, so worthy of self-love and creative expression.

Some guidelines for our shared practice, in order to create a beneficial space for everyone:

* Follow your body & movement, stay curious & see what happens! (You can't do it wrong)

* Be kind & respectful towards yourself & others in the space.

* Please speak with your body rather than words, take conversations outside if you need to speak with someone, unless words are needed for safety in the space. Sound is welcome, but use it wisely.

* Please don't use mobile phones, and put them on silent, flight mode or off.

* No street shoes please. Dance shoes or shoes you don't wear outside are ok.

* Please avoid wearing strong perfumes and deodorants, as some people are allergic to artificial fragrances.

* Please come with a reasonably clean body & clothing. If you know you sweat a lot while dancing, please bring a towel and a change of clothes with you.

* Please keep shirts on during the dance.

* If you can, please stay until the end, and if you need to leave early please do so as quietly as possible.

Please note - this is a drug & alcohol free event.

If you have any questions about these guidelines, or if there is something happening during the dance that is troubling you please come and see Sara-Jane or one of the crew either during, before or after the class as needed.
