Dandenongs Forest Bird Walk
Event description
Join the Urban Guerrillas for a relaxing morning walk and birding session in the montane forests of the Dandenong Ranges. Hosted by our resident bird nerd Callum (@calbirbs), a special gift for attendees await from our friends @Lyfer!
Starting at 8am to ensure we get the morning chorus of birds, we will be walking through the famous lyrebird track down to some wet fern-rich gullies. Expect to see plenty of parrots, small birds, golden whistlers and eastern yellow robins. If we're lucky, we may also see a superb lyrebird!
Meet just to the left of the cafe at Grant's Picnic Area in Sherbrooke. We may have some coffees at the start and end of the walk too.
Please bring wet weather gear and sturdy or water-resistant boots. If you have binoculars, bring them along too as there are many tall trees with birds high in the canopy.
