    Event description

"🌟 Join us at Morley Senior High School for a thought-provoking event featuring two renowned speakers, Melinda Tankard Reist and Daniel Principe, on Wednesday, November 15th. They will present a series of workshops designed for students, staff, parents, and our beloved Morley SHS Community.

📣 Parents and community members, you're invited to an eye-opening session where Melinda Tankard Reist and Daniel Principe will dive into a crucial topic: 'Navigating a Fast-Paced World: Empowering Our Youth to Resist Harmful Media and Pop Culture Messages While Fostering Respectful Relationships.'

🚀 Are you concerned that your children are growing up too quickly, becoming preoccupied with their appearance, and grappling with sexual issues at a young age? In today's world, children and young people are bombarded with hypersexualized messages from the media and popular culture. Even at a tender age, they're burdened by the pressure to conform to unrealistic beauty standards. Our kids are increasingly exposed to explicit content online, often before their first kiss, with the average age of first exposure being 11.

📚 Drawing from the latest global research and insights from young people themselves, Melinda Tankard Reist will shed light on how the proliferation of sexualized images and messages distorts their view of bodies, relationships, and sexuality, impeding their healthy emotional and social development. The question is, how can we address this toxic culture and nurture happy, healthy, and resilient young individuals who cherish their dignity and self-worth, aspiring to relationships based on respect and genuine connection? Melinda will provide actionable tips and resources to guide us toward this important goal.

💪 Additionally, Daniel Principe will share his valuable insights, especially in working with young men, to contribute to the discussion.

📢 Don't miss this opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges our youth face in today's world and discover how we can empower them to thrive while navigating through the complexities of modern life.

Mark your calendars for a compelling evening of learning and inspiration at Morley Senior High School. We look forward to seeing you there!
