The Darebin Community Awards are an annual celebration of members of the Darebin community (live, work or practice in Darebin) who have made significant contributions to Darebin life and culture. The awards celebrate inclusivity, strength in diversity, resilience, and giving back to the community.

Nominations are made by fellow community members and judged by an independent panel. In 2025 the award categories are:

Citizen of the Year
Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Community Leader of the Year
Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Emerging Young Community Leader of the Year
Community Group of the Year
Sustainability Award
Lifetime Achievement Award
Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) Elder Community Leader of the Year

The Darebin Community Awards Presentation Evening is a chance to celebrate with all the nominees, their families, friends and peers, and to announce the winners.

We strongly encourage registrations to allow for catering.
