Darebin Creek Bundoora Park Dam Community Planting Day
Event description
Hosted by Darebin Creek Management Committee & Friends of Darebin Creek
Join us for a rewarding day of nature, community and conservation as we plant native plants creating habitat for native animals along the beautiful Darebin Creek at Bundoora Park!
We’ll be planting a mix of shrubs, sedges, and rushes between the Darebin Creek and the Bundoora Public Golf Course Dam, helping to strengthen the habitat corridor and create vital stepping stones for local wildlife. This work supports small native animals like the Eastern Spinebill, Spotted Pardalote, Rakali, Growling Grass Frogs and Sugar Gliders.
Then join Craig from Draw Plants Together for a FREE, relaxing plant drawing workshop after the planting. Explore the unique plants of the Darebin Creek and learn more about the natural environment through observation and drawing. You might like to bring a picnic rug or chair if you stay for this session.
