Dark Matter in the Pub 2026 in Canberra

Dark Matter in the Pub is a FREE entertaining science outreach event that aims to bring together scientists and the wider community to explore the fascinating and mysterious topic of dark matter. Through a series of short, interactive and engaging presentations, the event aims to share the exciting research being carried out in this area in Australia and overseas. Being very close to Halloween, there will be some Halloween-themed talks. Think twice whether you want to join if you get scared easily! :-)

As part of the event, there will be a pub quiz to engage everyone with science, with small dark matter-themed prizes. The event will take place in the relaxed atmosphere of a pub, providing an opportunity for discussion and interaction with scientists after the presentations. A number of interactive demonstrations will also give the audience the opportunity to engage directly with science. There will be an entertaining music element included.

We're looking forward to seeing you there!
