    Event description

Thank you for booking your tickets to Darwin Pride – we can't wait to celebrate with you! After checkout, we'll ask you a few questions about who you are which should take no more than a minute to answer. We'd really appreciate your feedback as it will help us make future Pride events even better for all of our queer community. Thanks again in advance.

Top End Pride is thrilled to announce a brand new stage production written by local, queer, award-winning playwright Sean Guy.

“King Paddy” is a hilarious family story about a young man looking for a date, a handsome journalist looking for a story, and a grumpy grandfather who has set his suburban property up as a micronation with himself as its king. An intergenerational queer comedy of errors with a truly sincere heart of gold, King Paddy truly has something for everyone to enjoy and aligns perfectly with Darwin Pride 24’s theme “Celebrating the differences that connect us”.

King Paddy will run for four days from Wednesday 19 to Sunday 22nd June at Corrugated Iron Youth Arts Theatre in Nightcliff and is directed by locals Jack Macmillan and Iona Francis. The cast is also made up of all locals, showcasing the best of Darwin’s dramatic talent. Dom’s Bar will support the event with an exclusive 10% discount on the nights of the production, for those who can show their tickets.

    Sponsored by NTG and NTMEC

Darwin Pride will take place on Larrakia land. We pay our respects to elders past and present and recognise that this always was and always will be Aboriginal land.

Please note that this play features some mature themes and language. Parental guidance recommended.
