Tired of Tinder? Had it with Hinge? Come along to a cute and casual speed dating party at Redfern Surf Club. You'll go on 20 snappy dates with 20 single babes, drinking and talking and probably drinking some more. You can expect to be one of 40-80 singles.
We'll have heaps of conversation cards with all the most important first date Qs like "Do you go to therapy?" and "Do you believe Avril Lavigne is a clone?" as well as a competition to submit your own, where you can win a $50 bar voucher!
Tickets are just over a dollar a date and this one is for straight/straightish people. You might not date everyone, but we'll make sure that there's lots of time during and after the event to mingle and chat to whoever you want. Don't let us call your night short, continue to drink and dance afterwards!

FAQs
*So wait, I have to bring a date in order to get a date?
If you're able to, we're just asking you to bring a friend of a different gender. We do it this way in part because it helps us throw bigger and better events, but we've also found having a heap of guys there that have been vouched for by a woman (or two) helps us maintain a safe space. If you can't find a wingman/wingwoman, you'll need to join the waitlist for solo tix - if you've tried a few times now and still not gotten in, it is random so please keep trying! Chances for women are around one in four, and for men it's around one in two. Only those who are successful in scoring a waitlist ticket will receive an email. You can DM us if you've been waiting for a while and we can let you know how it's looking.
Is there an age range?
We don't have an age policy but to give you a guide our demographic is usually people in their 20s and 30s, with most attendees sitting between 25 and 35. If you sit outside of this age range, you can still come but we have noticed a trend wherein people younger/older will get fewer matches so just a heads up!
Will I date everyone?
Not usually, no. There will be between 40 and 80 people, however you'll only go on around 20 dates. There will be time before, mid-way and after the event to chat to people that you won't date though, so please don't be shy. You don't need to be sat at a table to have a nice convo.
Do I get free drinks just for showing up?
Nah. A lot of speed dating companies build drinks into the ticket price, but we'd rather keep prices accessible and let you decide how much or little you'd like to drink on the night.
How much privacy will we have?
We'll have the exclusive use of the venue - no lurkers, only ticket holders!
Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?
Name changes on the door are fine (so long as the gender on each ticket remains the same) but if you can let us know in advance it's always appreciated as we make cute handwritten name stickers for everyone.
What's the refund policy?
To get a refund, you must let us know at least 7 days prior to the event date. Mixed gender groups can transfer their tickets to the following month's event, but they must be transferred as a group and not split up. You can do this once only (no transfers or refunds after the first transfer) and you must let us know that you won't be attending at least 4 hours prior to event start time. If you are experiencing symptoms or your pre-event RAT comes up positive, let us know at any point prior to the event start time and we will transfer your tickets to a later date at no extra cost. The nature of the event means we're heavily reliant on numbers, so please be conscious of this and give us as much notice as possible so we have time to replace you. We won't be able to offer you a refund or transfer if you are a no-show/don't contact us until after the event has started.
